Spearheaded by the Goldhirsh Foundation, LA2050 believes in the power of Angelenos to shape the future of the city. LA2050 has looked at the health of the region along the following key indicators: arts & cultural vitality, education, environmental quality, health, housing, income & employment, public safety, and social connectedness.

The My LA2050 challenge US-based non-profits and for-profits organizations with projects serving LA County to dream of the most innovative and creative ways to tackle Los Angeles’ biggest problems. Submit your idea and explain how it will improve Los Angeles and positively impact one or more of the eight indicators. Can your idea increase communities’ access to parks? Can your project improve how Angelenos connect with each other? Submit an application for the chance at $100,000 to make your idea a reality in 2013.

Submissions are open from February 26 to noon on March 28. After determining applications adhere to all challenge rules, the public will vote for the best ideas. Public voting will be open from April 2 thru April 17. Rally your colleagues and friends to get behind your effort and join the public in selecting the winners. For more information, go to
