Introducing our Half-Marathon Training Program: Get Fit. Save Lives.

2013 is a New Year, which means it is time for a New You!

Join the American Heart Association at an Information Session to learn about Start Training, our half-marathon training and fundraising program that supports vital research, education and advocacy programs for heart disease and stroke. Start Training begins Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 in Los Angeles County.

  • Walkers and runners are welcome
  • No experience necessary
  • Take part in weekly group trainings led by volunteer coaches
  • Have fun, meet new people and get fit
  • Modest $500 fundraising minimum
  • Train for the Orange County Half-Marathon on May 5, 2013

Here are some healthy tips to help you make it through the holiday season! Try these smart substitutions in your holiday meals.

  • Use vegetable oils, such as olive oil, instead of butter.
  • Use low-fat or skim milk instead of whole milk or heavy cream.
  • Use herbs and spices, like rosemary and cloves, to flavor dishes instead of butter and salt.

We Train you. You Improve Your Health. Together, We Save Lives.
