The Health Education Council currently has an opening for the position of HEAL Zone Program Coordinator

The Program Coordinator will work closely with the Program Administrator, HEC support staff, volunteers, and community partners to:

Plan and implement community-based educational nutrition and physical activity classes, events and demonstrations

Foster relationships with partners, stakeholders and community members.

Work with partners and subcontractors to implement program components.

Contribute to the development and implementation of evaluation instruments and activities.

Assist with writing detailed reports on program activities and outcomes.

Manage up to five volunteers/ interns, and community health leaders.

Advocate for Healthy Eating and Active Living through community infrastructure capacity building.

Demonstrate highly effective communication skills.

Willing to work evenings and weekends if needed.

Implement Community Action Plan goals within HEAL Zone target schools, working closely with administrators to support lasting efforts to promote HEAL activities.

The Health Education Council is dedicated to providing access, education, advocacy, and training to empower individuals towards a healthy life. The Health Education is a non-profit agency:

Focused primarily on eliminating preventable causes of death resulting from the use of tobacco, poor nutrition, and lack of physical activity;

Operating more than 25 public health programs nationwide to meet the needs of diverse communities by increasing access to health-related knowledge and information;

Working proactively and collaboratively to ensure individuals are empowered to live a healthy life;

Representing diverse staff, community partners and funders to better serve communities that otherwise do not have a voice for care, or access to healthy environments.
