I Tara Zagofsky, PhD Candidate, UC Davis Geography,  would like to invite you on May 2nd, to hear and discuss practical “lessons learned” and promising approaches for multicultural resident engagement in South Sacramento Building Healthy Communities based on my PhD research.

During the first three years of the BHC initiative, I interviewed close to 50 participants and attended most BHC meetings and events. I heard over and over again that resident engagement was the most important goal and also the greatest challenge in the initiative. Participants asked that once I finished collecting, analyzing, and writing a draft report of my dissertation, that I report back to the community with a list of practical lessons for future BHC and other related efforts. I am happy to be doing this on May 2nd, and hope that you will join me to share your thoughts and reflections as well as to discuss opportunities to enhance current resident engagement activities in BHC and in multicultural/multilingual communities in general.

Hear about practical lessons learned and promising approaches for multicultural/multilingual resident engagement in South Sacramento Building Healthy Communities from my PhD research study.

Share your thoughts and reflections on BHC’s efforts and the lessons learned.

Discuss opportunities to enhance current resident engagement efforts in BHC/other community work.
