Lisa Ford Berry, founder of B.R.A.V.E. Society is calling on all interested members of the community to assemble Thursday, July 12, 2012 for a summit on the problem of peer abuse-based harassment in schools and in our community. There will be two sessions that day to accommodate everyone's schedule.

After her youngest son Michael became a victim of "bullycide" due to cyber-bullying on his 17th birthday, September 15, 2008, Berry formed B.R.A.V.E., a Sacramento based non-profit corporation. The grassroots organization specializes in peer abuse prevention.

October has been deemed National Anti-Bullying Awareness Month. "I think we can have significant conversations as it relates to suicide, LGBTQ-based harassment, peer abuse prevention, cyber bullying, peer abuse recovery, legal issues, law enforcement points of view, and mental health and wellness in our K-14 public schools and community colleges."
