Since 2006, The Know Youth Media has been supporting young people in Fresno by teaching them media skills and providing a platform to voice their perspectives and tell the stories of themselves, their peers, and their communities.  Today, with financial backing from The California Endowment, The Know is working with local youth to produce stories about community health issues that impact their lives, and the lives of other Fresno residents.  Stories produced by The Know are published online at theknowfresno.org and newamericamedia.org, in locally distributed print editions, and in other local media outlets where possible.  Youth media produced by The Know should serve as a megaphone for the city’s young people and their communities, and be an important source for conveying youth perspectives and information to an audience of peers and local decision makers.

The kNOw Youth Media is looking for a local resident of Fresno to take the lead on overseeing day-to-day activities, managing the work of a small local team, being the primary communicator with funders and community stakeholders, and taking on an active role long-term strategic planning.

Applications are due July 23, 2014. Email a resume and cover letter to Jacob Simas, Director of Youth media / New America Media to jsimas@newamericamedia.org.
