 | News Bulletin | Covered California Offers Funding for Community Outreach and Education Efforts
Today, Covered California (The Health Benefit Exchange) announced the availability of $43 million in funds for community organizations to perform outreach and education to increase public awareness of the program in California's uninsured population, a majority of whom are from communities of color. Covered California will work with trusted organizations to enroll as many people as possible into affordable, high-quality health coverage. Activities will include informing consumers and small businesses about the benefits of health coverage, establishing community messengers to address barriers, offering referrals to enrollment resources, and motivating eligible consumers and small businesses to enroll in Covered California. - February 6 - Grant Applicant Conference (in person in Sacramento)/Webinar
- February 7 - Letter of Intent Due
- February 19 - Last Day to Submit Inquiries and Questions
- February 22 (ongoing after that) - Responses to Questions Posted on Exchange's Website
- March 4 - Applications Due
- April 26 - Notifications of Intent to Award Posted on Exchange's Website
