We would like to cordially invite you and your clients to our World AIDS Day event

The Community Engagement Committee of Building Healthy Communities-Boyle Heights in collaboration with Planned Parenthood Los Angeles,  East Los Angeles Women’s Center, and The Royal Court cordially invite you to commemorate WORLD AIDS DAY by coming together to see the powerful play of “La Decision.”

World AIDS Day is held on December 1st each year and is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died. World AIDS Day was the first ever global health day and the first one was held in 1988.
Sunday, December 1st, 2013
2pm-5pm
Legacy L.A.
1350 San Pablo St. Los Angeles, CA. 90033

The 2013 theme for World Aids Day is: “Shared Responsibility: Strengthening Results for an AIDS-Free Generation.” We want to work together and share our resources to continue educating and preventing HIV/AIDS in our community.

*HIV disproportionately affects African American and Hispanic women. Together they represent less than 25 percent of all U.S. women, yet they account for more than 79% of AIDS cases in women (USA.gov).
*Nearly 1 in 7 new HIV infections could be prevented if women and girls were not subjected to physical or sexual abuse (ELAWC).

The play “La Decision” was developed and is acted by promotoras from Planned Parenthood. The play has reached out to more than 80,000 people since 1998.

Please help promote the event with your friends, family, co-workers, and youth!
