Advocacy Institute Application

Summer 2013


Thank you for your interest in participating in the VPC’s Advocacy Institute, presented in partnership with Senator Carol Liu’s Office, Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, Rainbow Services and Drug Policy Alliance. This three-session series will cover the basics of advocacy on a statewide level, as well as hands-on tools and practice to enable members to develop an idea into a bill, plan advocacy strategies to move legislators, prepare testimony for hearings, move a bill into law, and become powerful advocates for systems change. The institute will take place from 10am-Noon on June 26, July 24 and 10am-1pm on August 28 at The California Endowment located at 1000 N. Alameda St. Los Angeles, CA 90012.

4.)    What are you interested in learning from the Advocacy Institute, and how to envision that knowledge impacting your work moving forward?







5.)    Are you able to commit to all three sessions, and to the homework in between?  Will you need to confirm this with your employer?
