HOLD THE DATE: Support for Supervisors Solis and Keuhl’s Motion re: Administrative Relief at Board of Supervisors Meeting

WHEN: TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 24th, 2015 @ 9:30a.m. to approximately 12pm

WHERE: BOARD ROOM, KENNETH HAHN HALL OF ADMINISTRATION, 500 W. Temple St., Los Angeles, CA 90012

Supervisors Hilda Solis and Sheila Kuehl are introducing a motion that would create an L.A. County Deferred Action Task Force composed of representatives from various County departments, which will develop a plan for the optimal implementation of Administrative Relief, and to report back on that plan within 30 days.

This is a very important step for the County, and it is critically important to the successful implementation of Admin Relief in L.A. County.  The County’s various departments and agencies reach hundreds of thousands of potentially eligible people and can play a critical role in supporting community outreach, connecting people to resources, and providing documents to prove their residency.  Strong public action in support of Admin Relief is more urgent than ever, given the confusion created by the legal challenge to the President’s action.  It’s important to show a broad base of support for this action, and for the overall benefit Admin Relief will bring to the county’s social, civic and economic fabric.
