During the summer of 2011, youth from all different backgrounds participated in creating a "Live Map" of their community. By creating a digital map through the healthycity.org website, the 30 young people of this internship were offered a sustainability tool to continue to empower youth in future projects. Furthermore, the internship was an excellent opportunity to create a network and solidarity among the youth all over Del Norte County and its Adjacent Tribal Lands.

This internship opportunity was provided through Building Healthy Communities and Rural Human Services in partnership with AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteers, 4H, CASA of Del Norte, Klamath River Early College of the Redwoods, Sunset High, Yurok Tribal Offices, Friday Night Live, Dept. of Health & Human Services, Foster Youth Services of Del Norte, California Center for Rural Policy, First 5 Del Norte, Teen Success, Family Resource Center, Community Assistance Network and other local community groups
