![]() Youth News Network will be working with 6 to 9 youth and young adults from across Del Norte County who will be trained as multimedia community journalists for the purpose of amplifying the voices of Del Norte County residents, shining a light on disparities that exist within their community and having a say in how the community is seen and perceived. Stories will be distributed and made visible to the wider community via online and traditional outlets (print publications, radio and TV broadcast). The long-term objective of this initiative is to build a permanent and sustainable infrastructure for community journalism in Del Norte County that will serve as a source of local information for residents and policymakers alike. Youth News Network is seeking motivated applicants with a passion for multimedia storytelling. Responsibilities include writing print stories, shooting photos/videos, recording audio, and interacting with the community. Applicants need not be proficient in these fields as there will be training but they need to be eager to learn, able to take constructive criticism and revise projects as necessary. Applicants need to be punctual for meetings and deadlines. Qualifications:
Each youth will be paid for their work in the amount of $8.00 an hour. Each youth will work 7 hours a day Monday through Thursday. The hours are 9am to 5pm For More Information: Applications Due:
