National Public Lands Day

LET’S CLEAN UP OUR PARKS!

Please join fellow community members for a fun and rewarding day as we clean-up litter and garbage within the spectacular Smith River National Recreation Area on Saturday, September 28th, 2013. We will assemble at the USFS Forks boat ramp parking lot in Hiouchi (off South Fork Road between the first and second bridges). From there we will be targeting illegal dump sites along the middle and south forks of the Smith River as well as the South Kelsey Trail. Snacks and lunch will be provided.

This collaborative project is being organized by the Smith River Alliance and the Gasquet Forest Service Ranger District who invites all interested community members and organizations to participate with their time, tools, trucks, and/or trailers.  Remember to bring your gloves if you have them!  Donations of food, drinks, gloves, and other clean-up gear will be greatly appreciated.
