Hello all, I know that I have been a bit absent from this blogs and I just decided that it was time to get back at it. Specially since I have just come back from a two-day Coordinators Convening in LA for BHC. Let me tell you how awesome and how I look forward to this convenings  and not only because I get to see and hang out with cool people, but because of the sharing and learning that I take away from my peers from the other 13 BHC communities.

As we are well into our 2nd year of implementation for the BHC Initiative it has come to my mind that there are so many moving parts in this initiative and I realize that we all play a part in moving this to the next level. As I get into a room full of intelligent and passionate people I realize that we are in a good place to share our experiences and our successes  as well as our obstacles and we can come up with solutions to carry on and continue to keep moving the parts that are BHC.

I have to say that this time our convening was different then the other ones that we have participated in. This time we got a chance to tour around Boyle Heights and South LA Special Thanks go out to Joel Perez (Boyle Heights) and Cadonna Dory (South LA) they put  an amazing tour for all of us and it made us realize that even though we are spread through the state we share similar issues in our communities and it was such an amazing time. We got a chance to talk to community members and also on a personal note I got to hang out with Chivas USA mascot since I am a huge Chivas fan and since they are partners then to me that was so cool.. ( I love soccer and if you are wondering what the heck is Chivas, well is a soccer team from Guadalajara on the Mexican Soccer League).

But there was also time to get to work on the BHC issues that we can take on a local, Regional and Statewide level. I hope that we can continue to reach out to our peers and continue with the connections that we have made. I know that on my part if there is any thing that I  can help with you guys know where I am (mostly on CalConnect, FB and Twitter) feel free to reach out to me as I will do if I need some help.

Now with all of the moving parts going up and down, I know that I can count on a committed group of individuals that can help me when needed and vice versa. We are in the right place and as we move further I know we will continue to rise up to the occasion and make sure that all this moving parts of BHC Initiative are going to where they need to go and continue to highlight our communities.

I guess this is it for now...

Talk to you later....
