![]() The Statewide Steering Committee for Youth
Leadership was first convened in 2012 to respond to an identified need for more
structured youth engagement in the
BHC work at a statewide level. The
California Endowment and partnering agencies recognized that youth engagement
was emerging as a key strategy to accomplish BHC outcomes in many of the sites. The Steering Committee was created to
support the work of the sites, take advantage of the growing youth voice and
lift up youth and youth culture as important perspectives and tools in the
efforts to change systems and policies to improve health of communities. Mission and Purpose The BHC Youth
Steering Committee amplifies the voice, creativity and power of youth to
organize and advocate for transformational change and healing in our
communities and across California.
